Dhaka, Nov 20 – A Dhaka court yesterday placed six men, who were arrested for their alleged involvement on November 14 clash with law enforcers in front of the BNP central office in the city’s Nayapaltan area, on a five-day remand each. The arrestees include HK Hossain Ali Hridoy, JCD president post aspirant of ward No. 11 in the city.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Debabrata Biswas passed the order after hearing on Tuesday.
The other people who were placed on remand are- Shohagh Bhuiyan, general secretary of Shahjanpur thana; Mohammad Abbas Ali, a member of JCD Central Committee; Md Ashraful Islam Robin, joint general secretary of Dhaka North unit; Jakir Hossain Ujjal, joint secretary of Jagannath University unit and Mahbubul Alam, vice president of Titumir College unit.
Earlier, Kamrul Islam, Inspector of Detective Branch (DB), also Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, produced them before the court and sought a 10-day remand for each.
Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit officials arrested the six from Sutrapur area in the city after they were identified from media footage and monitoring social media sites, police said. – Special Correspondent
