Ansarullah Bangla Team IT chief held in capital Dhaka

Dhaka, May 2 – Members of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) arrested a suspected member of banned militant outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team from the city’s Bhatara area on Monday night.Based on secret information that Ashfaq-Ur-Rahman Ayon alias Arif alias Anik, IT chief of ABT, came here from Sylhet , a team of CTTC conducted a drive in the area and arrested him around 7:15pm, said Monirul Islam, chief of CTTC at a press briefing at DMP media centre.
“Ashfaq was a close aide of militant leader Major Zia. After completing his graduation from Computer Science Department in Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), he joined ABT,” said the CTTC chief.
Later, he joined the military wing of ABT and took training in Uttara and Pallabi on atheist blogger killing, added Monirul. – UNB
