Dhaka, Oct 19 (UNB) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested Tarequzzaman Rajib, councillor from ward No-33 of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), here on Saturday night for his alleged involvement in casino business.
A team of Rab-1 picked the councillor up from a house in Bashundhara Residential Area around 11:20pm, said Assistant Superintendent of Police Quamruzzaman, company commander of the Rab battalion.
He said they arrested Rajib on specific allegations.The ward councillor went into hiding after the crackdown on illegal casino business began on September 18 last.
