Asian Youth Chess: Subroto, Manon, Warsia share top slots

Dhaka – Subroto Biswas, Manon Reza Neer and Warsia Khushbu shared the top slots in their respective groups of the Asian Youth Chess Championship securing full two points after 2nd round matches at Lotus Pang Suan Kaew Hotel in Chiang Mai in Thailand on Monday.
Subrota Biswas shared the top slot in Open Under-16 group, Manon Reja Neer in Open Under-8 group while Warsia Khushbu in Open Under-6 group after the day’s first and 2nd round matches.

FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman is in 2nd position with 1.5 points in Open Under-18 group. Jannatul Ferdous in Girls Under-16 group, Noshin Anjum in Girls Under-14 group and Swarnavo Choudhury in Open Under-12 group securing one points each.

In the day’s first round, FM Fahad beat Sezdbekov Arzybek of Kyrgyzstan, Subrota beat Komal Srivatsav Sajja of India, Neer beat Hansana G Haritha of Sri Lanka, Warsia beat Pa-in Thunpisit of Thailand, Jannat beat Alexander Helencia of Malaysia, Swarnavo beat Promchan Noppakun of Thailand, Noshin drew with Ali Al Aisha Saif of UAE, Marzouq lost to Nguyen Duc Sang of Vietnam while Ridwan lost to Nguyen Thai Son of Vietnam.

In 2nd round matches, Fahad drew with GMH Thilakarathne of Sri Lanka, Subroto beat Chinguun Otgonbayar of Mongolia, Neer beat Khazhatuly Alikhan of Kazakhstan, Warsia beat Tuvshintulga Tumurchudur of Mongolia, Noshin drew with Wang Zihan Eva of Taipei, Jannat lost to Salonika Saina of India, Swarnavo lost to CM Khalifah Khaled of UAE, Marzour lost to Chan Jordan of Australia and Ridwan lost to Vaibhav Kalpaka of India.

A total of 573 players from 26 Asian and Oceania countries were taking part in the 13-age group events.UNB
