Asif Akbar to appear on big screen

Singer Asif Akbar has officially taken up the job of acting. He has been roped in for a full-length film titled VIP. He will be seen as a CID officer in the film. Shooting will start from the first week of October. Saikat Nasir the director of the film has played the major part in getting Asif into acting. The estimated budget of the film is four crore taka. The director hopes that this huge sum might be collected back given the latest prospects seen in digital streaming and viewing platforms and international marketing.Also that, the general audience might not take the first impressions of their favourite singer Asif Akbar in the silver screen too lightly, fuelled his hopes.
The idea came to Nasir’s mind soon after the first of the recent music videos showing Asif was released. Nasir directed these music videos titled with a common word “Agun” or Fire. The last of the series Agunpani received huge response from YouTube viewers. Nasir decided to capitalize on this and try Asif as a full-fledged actor before the audience. Nasir previously directed political thriller Desha: The Leader. Released in 2014 the film got four National Film Awards.
