August 21 grenade attack case hearing Oct 23

Dhaka – The Speedy Tribunal-3 of Dhaka yesterday fixed October 23 to start hearing the arguments in the August 21 grenade attack cases.Judge Shahed Nuruddin of the tribunal fixed the date on completion of recording the statements of the prosecution and defence witnesses on Wednesday.
The tribunal started recording the depositions of the witnesses from 2011 and completed recording the statements of 225 prosecution witnesses and 17 defence witnesses.
Twenty-four leaders and workers of Awami League and its associate bodies including Ivy Rahman, the then Women Awami League president and wife of late President Zillur Rahman, were killed and over 500 others suffered injuries in the attack on August 21, 2004.
