Police recovered the body of an auto-rickshaw driver from Jawabazar in Chhatak upazila on Saturday evening.
The deceased was identified as Belayet, son of Ziaul Haque, a resident of Mahtabpur village in Biswanath upazila of the district.Shafiqul Islam, sub-inspector of Jawabazar Police camp, said locals spotted Belayet’s body beside Dinanpur haor in the area at about 5:30 pm and informed police.
Later, they recovered the body and sent it to a hospital morgue for an autopsy.The victim’s family said Belayet remained missing since he went out of
home with his CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Friday morning.Miscreants might have strangled Belayet to death and took away his auto-rickshaw, said SI Shafiqul.A case was filed in this connection. -UNB, Sunamganj
