Govt invited political death, says Jamaat. Hartal Sunday

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has announced four-day programmes including enforcing a daylong countrywide hartal on Sunday protesting the execution of party leader Abdul Quader Mollah.Acting Ameer of Jamaat Makbul Ahmad announced the programme through a press statement soon after execution of death sentence of Quader Mollah on Thursday night.

The other programmes include holding gayebana janaja at divisional headquarters, district and upazila levels on Friday, observing the Intellectual Martyrdom Day along with holding doa mahfil for all martyrdoms what they said including Quader Mollah on Saturday and holding discussion meeting on Victory Day on Monday.

In the statement, the Jamaat Ameer condemned and protested the “killing” of Quader Mollah in a “planned way” by ignoring the calls of people of Bangladesh and world community.

“The government has invited its political death by killing him (Quader) illegally. Each drop of his bloodshed with bring crush for those were involved in his killing,” he said.

The Jamaat leader called upon the party activists and countrymen to observe the programme in a democratic and peaceful manner.

He also called upon the people to intensify the ongoing movement to force it to quit and world community to raise their voice against the misdeeds and cruelty of the government. – Staff Reporter
