B Chy renews demand for Caretaker Govt

Renewing his party’s demand for restoration of the caretaker government, Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) president Prof AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury on Tuesday said the next general election must be held under a non-party caretaker government.
“Next (parliamentary) polls will have to be held under a neutral administration …So, the election must be organised under a caretaker government,” he told a workers’ rally of BDB in the capital’s Jatrabari area.
The former president also urged the country’s people to be vocal to force the government to restore the caretaker government system.
Taking a swipe at the government for its various misdeeds, misrule and corruption, Badruddoza Chowdhury said the present government has completely destroyed democracy in the country.   Addressing the rally, Krishak Sramik Janata League president Abdul Kader Siddiqui (Bir Uttam) also criticised the government, saying it is behaving like an autocratic ruler.
The valiant freedom fighter also called upon the government to restore the caretaker government to oversee the next parliamentary polls. –UNB
