Dhaka, Oct 19 – A group of dissident leaders of Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) on Friday announced a new committee of the party relieving its president AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury, secretary general Abdul Mannan and joint secretary general Mahi B Chowdhury responsibilities of the party. Advocate Shah Alam Badal, who was expelled from BDB on October 13 over joining Dr Kamal Hossain-led Jatiya Oikya Front’s programme, came up with the announcement while talking to reporters in front of the Jatiya Press Club on Friday.
Party presidium member and Dhaka University Prof Nurul Amin Bepari has been made the president of the new committee and Shah Alam Badal its general secretary.
Badal said, “We’re scheduled to hold a press conference at the Jatiya Press Club this morning, but when we went there the authorities concerned didn’t allow us to hold the programme saying that our booking has been cancelled.”
“We’ve decided to relieve AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury, Abdul Mannan and Mahi B Chowdhury of the party responsibilities as per section 5/2 of the party constitution for violating its discipline,” he said.
Badal claimed that they are the main stream of BDB, and they will soon join the Jatiya Oikya Front.
On October 13, the B Chowdhury-led BDB expelled its vice president Shaha Alam Badal another leader from the party for violating its discipline.
