Bagladesh-India to review power initiatives

A Bangladesh delegation led by Power Secretary Monowar Islam is in the Indian capital New Delhi to what the Indian High Commission in Dhaka says “give impetus to power sector cooperation”.The Secretary will co-chair, along with his Indian counterpart P Uma Shankar, the sixth meeting of the “India-Bangladesh Joint Steering Committee on Cooperation in the Power Sector” from June 26 to 27.
The high commission said in a media release that the officials of the two countries would discuss the status of the various initiatives for power sector cooperation including the bulk transmission of 500 MW power from India, grid inter-connectivity, the Rampal power project and other cooperative ventures.
