Bhanga Bangla is known for their absurd visuals and lyrics in their music videos, and Borof is another excellent example. The video features Bhanga Bangla members 41X, Young Prince, and Ivory Shakur partying with women in sarees who are carrying firearms.
The video has received mixed reviews from their fans, and has reached more than 270,000 views on YouTube since its release.
Ivory Shakur, creator of the ‘desi’ trap group, took to Facebook and thanked fans for their enormous support.
On June 19, he wrote: “Today we crossed 50,000 subscribers on YouTube. When my brothers Umair Talal (41X), Young Prince and I had our first conversation about creating Bhanga Bangla and introducing this genre of music in Bangladesh, we agreed that opportunity and choice were important. We felt that the opportunity for the people in our country to experience music that people were experiencing here in the States, however different, was important. We felt the ‘choice’ to hate or love something was far more important than not having ‘choice.’ Thank you to the core supporters for putting us on. Within one year, we were able to create change and we will continue to create change, choice and opportunity for the world. #thankyougod.”
Borof was produced by 41X, Ivory Shakur, Young Prince, and Peter Madana under the Sony Music record label. Peter Madana was the audio engineer for the project. The video was directed by Ivory Shakur, while Kyle Morgan was the cinematographer.
In December last year, the group came under the US media spotlight as Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers arrested them while responding to a call for what appeared to be a “terrorist attack” at a church in East LA. This heightened response was a result of the horrible mass shooting that took place at a synagogue in Pittsburgh in December. The team was actually shooting a video for their fourth music video Jhamela Nai. No one from the team was injured or killed during this music video shoot.
