Dhaka, Mar 6 –A dawn-to-dusk hartal, enforced by Parbatya Bangali Chhatra Parishad, is underway in the three hill districts – Rangamati, Khagrachhari and Bandarban –on Monday.The Parishad called the hartal to press home its eight-point demand, including CHT quota for admission and appointment to Rangamati Medical College and Rangamati Science and Technology University, cancellation of the draft of the CHT Land Dispute Resolution Commission (Amendment) Bill.
No vehicle was seen plying the roads in the districts while no long-route bus left the district towns either since Monday morning.
Law enforcers have been put on alert to fend off any possible trouble. – UNB
