Bangladesh, Belarus sign 8 MoUs

Bangladesh and Belarus on Tuesday signed eight instruments, including two agreements and four Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs), aiming to strengthen economic and cultural relations between the two countries. The ministers and officials concerned signed the instruments at the House of Government in Minsk on behalf of their respective sides.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Belarus Counterpart Mikhail V Myasnikovich witnessed the signing ceremony.
Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni and Belarusian Minister for Taxes and Duties, Vladimir Poluyan signed the agreement on Avoidance of Double Taxation.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Belarus Dr SM Saiful Haq and Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Roumas inked the ‘Framework Agreement on Commodity Export Credit.’
Memorandum of Understandings on Cooperation in peaceful use of nuclear energy was signed by Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni and Belarus Minister for Energy Vladimir Potupchik while MoU on Cultural Cooperation was penned by Dr Dipu Moni and Belarus Minister for Culture Boris Svetlov.
Ambassador Dr SM Saiful Haq and First Deputy Minister Finance Vladimir Amarin signed the Joint Declaration of Intent on Preferential Export Loan.
The MoU between Diplomatic Training Academies of the two countries was signed between Foreign Secretary Shahidul Haq and Rector Prof Dr Anatol Marazevich.
Another MoU between two Universities was signed by Vice Chancellor of Shajalal University of Science and Technology Dr Md Elias Uddin and Vice Rector Dr Andrei Goronovsky.
Besides, a ‘Protocol Intention Between Square Consumer Products Ltd and Meat and Dairy Company of Belarus was inked by Senior Manager Khurshed Ahmed Farhad and Director General Yakov Pusttoshilo. – UNB
