Bangladesh bowl first against India in T20 series opener

Dhaka, Nov 3 (UNB) — Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bowl first in the first match of three-match T20 series against India on Sunday at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi with Mohammad Naim making his T20I debut.

Bangladesh included Mohammad Naim to bat in the top order. The 20-year-old left-handed batsman was the second-highest runs getter in the last Dhaka Premier League.

However, Naim yet to prove his prowess in T20 cricket. He played only seven T20 games before and amassed 90 runs in an average of 22.5.
Bangladesh also included Al Amin Hossain in the playing XI. The right-arm pacer played his last T20Is back in 2016.
On the other hand, India handed T20 cup to left-handed all-rounder Shivam Dube who played 19 T20s and scored 242 runs with taking 14 wickets.

 

Bangladesh have faced India in eight T20Is before but failed to register any win.

Mahmudullah Riyad will lead the Tigers in this series as he was handed the role after the regular captain Shakib Al Hasan was banned by ICC due to failing to report corrupt approaches.
On the other hand, Rohit Sharma will lead the hosts’ side in the absence of the regular skipper Virat Kohli.
