Bangladesh Heritage Crafts Foundation second gala event ends

The second gala event of the Bangladesh Heritage Crafts Foundation was successfully completed. In addition to the exhibition, cultural events and talks were held in the capital city’s Hotel Radisson on the initiative of the TS event on August 23 and 24, in which there were participated the minister’s advisers, as well as entrepreneurs and foreign ambassadors. The purpose of the Heritage Crafts Foundation is to preserve, enrich the deadly traditions of this country and create markets abroad. After the first event in Gulshan on May 12 in 2018, the exhibition was organized in a larger range this time, so that participating artisans like Dhaka Banarashi, Jamdani, Rajshahi Silk and Tatar Sari were participated.

Tootli Rahman, the founding president of the Heritage Crafts Foundation, organized the event. She called all to come forward to protect our deadly crafts. At the inauguration ceremony, he said, it is not possible for any single person or institution to restore this tradition.
However, the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony, the political adviser to the Prime Minister, H T Imam, said that the craft was endangered but he said it was not true that all traditions were lost. They still have a chance to be renewed.
The Ambassador of Vietnam was present at the inauguration ceremony, and the Thai Ambassador was present at the closing ceremony. Both ambassadors highlighted the contribution of traditional crafts to the economic development of their country.
The special guest of the closing ceremony was the president of BGME Dr. Rubana Haque urged her to consider how traditional craft can connect with the export-oriented garment industry. Industry Minister Nurul Majid Humayun was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. He expressed his enthusiasm for such a world-class exhibition of the country’s heritage and culture. On the other hand, the marginalized people who are concerned with the production of such products should urge them to take up such an arrangement. He also vowed that the government would be especially at the industrial ministry.
