Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina reaches Brunei

Bandar Seri Begawan (Brunei), Apr 21 (UNB) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived here this afternoon  on a three-day official visit when the two countries are expected to sign seven Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs).

A special Biman flight that left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 8:25am landed at Brunei International Airport at 2:30pm (local time).

Crown Prince of Brunei Darussalam Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah welcomed her at the airport.

After an official welcome ceremony, she was escorted to Empire Hotel & Country Club where she will be staying during her visit.

Sheikh Hasina took up the tour at the invitation of Brunei’s Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddinWaddaulah.

Six of the Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) will be signed to strengthen cooperation in the areas of agriculture, art and culture, youth and sports, fisheries, livestock and energy sectors while another MoU is yet to be finalised.

She will attend a community event and join dinner to be hosted by High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Brunei at the Empire Hotel on Sunday.
