Bangladesh suffer 29-run defeat against hosts Pakistan

Dhaka -After being whitewashed in the three-match T20 series 0-3, touring Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team also made a frustrating start in the two-match ODI series losing to hosts Pakistan by 29-run in the first match at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Saturday.

Bangladesh will play their 2nd and last ODI match against Pakistan on November 4 at the same venue.

In the day’s first ODI, Pakistan elected to bat first after winning the toss and were all out for 215 in 48.5 overs.

Nahida Khan scored the team’s highest 68 off 97 balls smashing 7 fours while captainBismahMaroof added 39 off 43 balls and AliyaRiaz made 37 off 33 balls.

Jahanara Alam bagged three wickets for 44 while PannaGhosh and NahidaAkter took two wickets each conceding 12 and 15 runs respectively.

In reply, touring Bangladesh were all out for 186 in 47.4 overs.

Nigar Sultana scored the team’s highest 58 runs off 77 balls smashing 4 fours and one six, captain Rumana Ahmed scored 28 off 60 ball while FarganaHoque scored 27 off 57 balls.

Sana Mir picked up three wickets for 49 while Diana Baig, SadiaIqbal, Nashra Sandhu claimed two 2 wickets each conceding 43, 38 and 28 runs respectively.

Earlier, touring Bangladesh women’s team was whitewashed against hosts Pakistan women’s team in the three-match T20 series.The touring side conceded 14-run defeat in first T20, 15-run defeat in second T20 and 28-run defeat in third T20.UNB
