Bangladesh to host 2019 ABU RadioAsia Conf Oct 29-31

Dhaka, July 1 (UNB) – Bangladesh will host the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) RadioAsia Conference and Radio Song Festival on October 29-31 in the city for the first time.

Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar will welcome delegates to the ABU RadioAsia 2019 Conference in the capital city while Bangladesh Television will host, record and distribute the international song festival gala concert performances.

In a statement on Monday, ABU Head of Radio Olya Booyar said this year’s Radio Asia will dig deep into Radio’s continuing appeal with the theme of ‘Radio all Around Us: More than just a medium’.

“Experts from across the region and around the world will bring their experience, thoughts and theories to our region’s premier radio content conference to answer the key question: What makes Radio so enduringly special?” she says.

The three-day conference will bring together leading radio professionals, policymakers, communication specialists, manufacturers, suppliers and academics from across the Asia-Pacific region and elsewhere in the world.

“There’ll be many must-attend sessions and discussions, together with demonstrations and information booths to provide delegates with specialist knowledge and resources to play a part in the development of the radio industry in the years to come,” Olya adds.
