Bangladesh to play Thailand in final on Saturday

Dhaka – Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team to take on Thailand Women’s Cricket team on Saturday in the final of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers at the Forthill in Dundee, Scotland. The match will kick-off at 12 am (BdST). Both finalists of the eight-team league-cum-knockout basis tournament have earned the right to play in the final round of the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 in Australia.

On Thursday, Bangladesh secured final beating Ireland by 4 wickets with 9 balls remaining in the first semis while Thailand confirmed their spot in final outplaying Papua New Guinea Women by 8 wickets with 15 balls remaining in the second semis, both at the Forthill in Dundee.

Bangladesh played the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup thrice — in 2014 in Bangladesh, 2016 in India and in 2018 in the West Indies while Thailand women made history by qualifying for the first time in the meet.

Earlier, Bangladesh Women’s team emerged Group A champions to reach the semifinals in the eight-team fray with all-win record securing full six points from straight three matches.
