BD-Sri Lanka four-day unofficial Test series ended in draw

Dhaka – The 2-match four-day unofficial Test series between Bangladesh Emerging Cricket team and touring Sri Lanka Emerging Cricket team ended in a draw 0-0.

The second four-day unofficial Test match was ended in draw as the 4th and final day washed out on Friday without a single ball being bowled at the Sheikh Kamal International Stadium in Cox’s Bazar.

The Bangladesh-Sri Lanka first four-day unofficial Test match was also ended in a draw on the 4th and final day at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna on August 30.

In Cox’s Bazar, hosts Bangladesh were 208 for 3 in 66 overs against Sri Lanka at the end of 3rd day on Thursday.

Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto scored not out 88 runs off 173 balls hitting 10 fours and 3 sixes while Afif Hossain was unbeaten on 100 off 180 balls, hitting 11 fours and 2 sixes on the day.

After electing to bat first, Bangladesh opened their first innings and scored 57 for 3 at the end of 2nd day on Wednesday.

Saif Hassan scored 4, Aminul Islam 9 and Yasir Ali 0 for the hosts Bangladesh while Jehan Daniel picked up two wickets and Mohamed Shiraz bagged one wicket for the touring Sri Lanka.

The first day’s play was also washed out on Tuesday without a single ball being bowled.

Touring Sri Lanka clinched the three-match unofficial ODI series 2-1 beating Bangladesh by seven wickets under D/L method in the 3rd and last match at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna on August 24.

Islanders Sri Lanka made a flying start beating Bangladesh by a big margin of 186 runs in the first one-day match on August 18, but the host team made a good comeback in the 2nd match beating the touring side by two wickets on August 21, both at the BKSP in Savar.
