Dhaka, Feb 24 – Just a 10-days camp helped me believing in myself and my capabilities. I came out with a new vision, which was unknown to me before.”, said Adrija Sangsthita Prithibi, a class seven student of Birsrestho Noor Mohammad Public School in Dhaka.
She was one of eight Bangladeshi children of age between 11 and 16 years, who recently returned from Russia after attending the 10-day ‘International Smart Holidays’ camp– a “Rosatom School” project supported by State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom.The camp was organized in the serene nature of Penza region of Central Russia, 600 km South East from Moscow. Other participants were from Russia, Vietnam, Turkey, South Africa, Egypt, Kenya and Ghana.
“Actively participating in traditional Russian cultural and sport activities was just enthralling.
The camp was a unique platform to make friends with children from other nations and culture, exchange views and ideas with them. I also learnt how to live independently away from own family” Prithibi added.

Aranyo Rishi Chowdhury, another participant and class v1 Jupiter student of S.F.X Greenherald International School sharing own experience said, “Every single day at the camp was amazing, filled with playing, dancing, socializing with people of different cultures, group projects and the voices of dozens of children.”
“It helped me discover new things, such as new friends, the Russian winter, traditions of different nations and, most importantly, myself. This trip helped me discover many new things about myself. It helped me grow as a person and made me stronger, both physically and mentally. “
During the camp the children spent time developing new skills in art and sports, learning about Russian culture and celebrating traditional Russian Maslenitsa week, a traditional Russian festival to say good bye to winter. From the day one the children were immersed in multilingual educational and entertainment events, staging their own theater performance, curate personal exhibitions, creating educational quests, learning modern and Russian folk dances.
Mubashira Mahboob, Grade 8 student of Scholastica Mirpur Campus said, “It was an extraordinary camp where they pulled out my inner creativity. We all might have different language and culture but i felt how similar we are and how easily we were all able to mix, talk and laugh together. All diversity vanished and all together we were as one doing fun filled activities all day and living together enjoying each and every moment. The camp made me far more patriotic and i learnt to respect others too”. – Press release
