A Bangladeshi youth was killed by BSF firing on Bashalgaon border under Haripur upazila of the district early this morning.The deceased was identified as Hemanta Kumar, 32, son of Jitesh Chandra Barman of Kholra village of the upazila.BGB and local sources said Hemanta along with eight to 10 persons to bring cattle heads from India, at about 4 am. When they tried to cross the barbed wire fence, a petrol team of Kornojora-Adhok Battalion of Bohor BSF Camp opened fire on them, Hemanta died on the spot but others managed to escape and returned to Bangladesh.Dinajpur Battalion Commander of BGB Lt Commander Afsar Iqbal confirmed the matter.THAKURGAON, (BSS)
