Bar Council VC Mahbub’s bail prayer rejected

A Dhaka court on Tuesday rejected the bail petition of Bar Council Vice-Chairman Khandaker Mahbub and the remand plea against him in a case filed with Ramna Police Station in his presence. Magistrate Md Rezaul Karim of Dhaka’s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court passed the order after hearing in the morning.
Pro-BNP lawyers including Sanaullah Miah, Masud Ahmed Talukder and Mohsin Mia appeared to the court on behalf of Khandaker Mahbub Hossain, who is also an adviser of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. Earlier,  Detective Branch (DB) Police sought a seven-day remand to interrogate Khandaker Mahbub in the case.
Khandaker Mahbub was arrested in front Jatiya Press Club on January 7. – Court Correspondent
