Mymensingh, Feb 21 – Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) observed International Mother Language Day paying due respect to the martyrs of the historic language movement on Friday.BAU authority chalked out a day-long program to observe the day including rally, placing a floral wreath and discussion seminar. BAU Teachers Association (BAUTA) brought out a procession from university club parading main roads in the university and ended at the Central Shaheed Minar at around 7:00 am. Later, teachers, students and other officials of BAU placed wreath under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Lutful Hassan.
Later, a discussion seminar held at the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) conference room titled ‘Vasha Andolon o Bangabandhu’.
Special prayers were also offered at the central mosque and mosques of all residential halls for the departed souls of the heroes. – BAU Correspondent
