BAU teachers boycott class-examns for enhanced pay

Teachers of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) on Wednesday boycotted all class-exams for indefinite period protesting against the 8th national pay scale and demanded a separate wage structure.

Sources said, an emergency meeting was held at the Microbiology and Hygiene gallery of the university. In the meeting they took a decision to boycott all class-exams for an  indefinite period in the presence of 132 teachers. BAU Teachers Association president Prof Dr Khandoker Shariful Islam presided over the meeting.
He said that the strike will continue until the government met their demands.Protesting the new 8th pay scale, teachers of all public universities have been staging various programmes for separate pay scale for the university teachers.

In the mean time, teachers of agricultural engineering took the ongoing exam’s answer sheet after half an hour while the decision was taken. –  BAU Correspondent
