BCB to host domestic T20 league from Feb 25

Dhaka – The T20 version of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPDCL) will begin on February 25, announced Chairman of the Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis Kazi Inam on Monday.
While most of the other Test-playing nations have more than one T20 domestic league, Bangladesh only has the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Now, the local players found another place to flourish their T20 prowess in the DPDCL T20.
“We are going to host a T20 tournament. All of 12 Dhaka Premier League’s teams will participate in this short tournament of eight days. It’ll start on February 25 and the semifinals and final will be held on March 1 and 3 respectively,” Kazi Inam said.

The participating 12 teams will be divided into four groups. Every top team from each group will advance to the semifinals. The two semifinals and the final will be held at Shere-e-Bangla National Stadium under lights. However, the schedule of the tournament is yet to be announced.
This T20 tournament is considered as a preparatory event of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). If it can produce some quality matches and some good T20 performances, it might continue in the future.UNB
