BCL 5th round matches end in draw

Dhaka – Both the matches of the fifth round of Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) between Prime Bank South Zone and Islami Bank East Zone at Shahid Chandu Stadium and BCB North Zone and Walton Central Zone at Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi ended in draws on Friday.Sunzamul Islam’s six wickets and Mohammad Ashraful’s 30-ball fifty were the main highlights of the fourth and final day of the fifth round.
In the first innings of the match, East Zone scored 262 for eight wickets and declared the innings. Yasir Ali helped them scoring 70 runs. Al Amin Hossain grabbed three wickets for South Zone.
South Zone posted 175 for eight wickets before declaring the innings. Fazle Mahmud Rabbi hit 69 for South Zone, and Taijul Islam, Farhad Reza, Abu Jayed Rahi and Khaled Ahmed took two wickets each for East Zone, who later hit 159 for nine in their second innings and set 247 as the target for South Zone. Rony Talukder and Mohammad Ashraful hit the fifties where Ashraful took only 30 balls to complete his fifty.

South Zone scored 132 for five wickets at the end of the fourth and last day of the game. And thus the match finished with a draw.
The match between BCB North Zone and Walton Central Zone saw the same result as the match ended with three innings. In the first innings, North Zone hit 146 losing all of their wickets. Arafat Sunny took three wickets for Central Zone who replied with 294 all-out in their first innings. Saif Hassan, Abdul Mazid and Nazmul Hossain Shanto hit the fifties for them. Sunzamul Islam took six wickets for North Zone.
North Zone scored 113 for three in their second at the end of the fourth and final day of the match and the match ended with a draw as well.UNB
