Leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at a blanket distribution ceremony here today called upon the affluent citizens to stand beside the cold-hit poor and distressed people for mitigating their sufferings.
The district unit of BCL organised the ceremony for distributing blankets among the cold-stricken people on its Betpotti office premises in the city with assistance of the central committee of the reputed students’ organisation.Presided over by district unit President of BCL Mehedi Hassan Ronny, President of city unit of Awami League (AL) Shafiar Rahman Shafi attended the ceremony as the chief guest.Moderated by General Secretary of district unit BCL Rakibul Hassan Kanon, Joint Secretary of district AL Shahinur Rahman Sohel, its Organising Secretary Motahar Hossain Mowla, Deputy Office Secretary Amin Sarker, AL leaders Rahel Ahmed and Shahidul Islam Hira addressed the ceremony.Vice-President of district BCL Shamim Sarder, its Joint Secretaries Sohel Rana Sony and Asaduddowla, Joint Secretary of Carmichael College unit of BCL Saiduzzaman Scissor, BCL leaders Nur Alam Khushi, Atikur Rahman, Motaleb Hossain, Jiyon, Murad, Hasib, Al Amin, Jewell, Abdus Sobhan and Abu Hossain were also present.Later, the district unit leaders of BCL along with the chief guest distributed blankets among a large number of cold-hit people of all ages, including women and children, to end the ceremony. -BSS, Rangpur
