Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) observed its 66th founding anniversary Saturday with a fresh vow to build a technologically modern and developed Digital Bangladesh.
To mark the day, district and city units of BCL chalked out programmes including hoisting of the national and party flags, placing wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, cutting cakes, rallies and discussions.
The district unit of BCL began observance of the day through cutting a huge cake after the zero hours on Saturday and later continued their other programmes throughout the day.
District unit President of BCL Dhanonjoy Ghosh Taposh, its General Secretary Fakhrul Hassan Lieu and a large number of the district level leaders of the reputed students’ organisation were present.
The city unit of BCL started celebrating the 66th aniversary cutting a huge cake at its office followed by hoisting of the national and party flags, placing floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu and a discussion meeting.
Besides, BCL units of Sadar upazila, Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur Carmichael College, Rangpur Medical College, Rangpur Government College and other institutions also arranged similar programmes, rallies and discussions to mark the day in the city.
President of city unit BCL Yunus Ali presided over the discussion meeting arranged at its office on the occasion while President of city unit of Awami League Shafiar Rahman Shafi addressed it as the chief guest.
Office Secretary of district AL Tauhidur Rahman Tutul, its Education and Social Welfare Affairs Secretary Jashem Bin Hossain Jummon, Joint Secretary of city AL Nawshad Hamid addressed the discussion moderated by city BCL General Secretary Rafikul Islam.
District BCL President Dhanonjoy Ghosh Taposh, its General Secretary Fakhrul Hassan Lieu and Organising Secretary Jewell Rana Ratan, Vice-president of its city unit Moudud Ahmed, BCL leaders Mithun Kumar Das, also addressed. -BSS, Rangpur
