Rajshahi – A researcher of Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) was killed and the driver of his car injured on Friday in a road accident near Bidyadharpur Kalina bridge in Mohanpur Upazila in the district. -UNB
The deceased was identified as Mansur Rahman, 60, a resident of Chanduma residential area in Rajshahi and injured driver was Sharirat Ali, 32, of Naodapara in the same district.
Officer-in-charge of Mohanpur Police Station SM Masud Parvez said when Mansur Rahman was going to his village home at Dhamorhat in Naogan district his car hit a roadside tree after its driver lost control over the steering around 5:30 am, leaving the duo injured.
The injured were rushed to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared Mansur dead.
