BFF budget for next fiscal clocks Tk 41.6 crore

Dhaka – The Bangladesh Football Federation’s budget for the next fiscal will be Tk 41.6 crore  (Tk 416 million) and it has approved all its expenditure for the last three years from 2017 to 2019.

The disclosures came during the football governing body’s much-hyped Annual General Meeting (AGM), chaired by BFF President Kazi Md Salahuddin, at Sarah Resort in Gazipur on Saturday.

Besides, Senior Vice-President Abdus Salam Murshedy, Vice-Presidents Badal Roy, members Shawkat Ali Khan Jahangir, Mahfuza Akter Kiron, General Secretary Md Abu Nayeem Shohag, Chairman of SAIF Sporting Club Tarafder Md Ruhul Amin and some 135 councillors and delegates from different associations, clubs and services were present at the AGM.

The AGM, which was last held in 2016 just hours before the last BFF elections, was held this time with just a few months left before the next BFF executive committee elections, expected to be held to be held in April 2020.

After the AGM, the BFF President expressed his satisfaction saying, “I am highly impressed today. Everybody was positive and we all are here to discuss about the development of country’s football. Councillors expressed their opinion about it.”

One of the BFF councillors and Chairman of SAIF Sporting Club Tarafder Md Ruhul Amin said, “Despite several objections regarding the audit reports (2017-19), we approved them in the greater interest of the country’s football avoiding controversies.”

Earlier, Bangladesh Football Clubs Association (BFCA), a platform of the country’s football clubs with Tarafder Md Ruhul Amin serving as its president, threatened to call an extraordinary general meeting if the BFF executive committee failed to disclose audit reports and hold an annual general meeting (AGM).

On July 8, Tarafder Amin called on the BFF to arrange its much-awaited AGM and publish the audit reports within two weeks at a BFCA coordination meeting at Hotel Purbani International Ltd.UNB
