BFRI inaugurates Fish Technology Fair

Mymensingh, July 20 – The Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute (BFRI) inaugurated a 5-day long Fish technology fair on the occasion of National Fisheries Week-2018.Religious Affairs Minister Motiur Rahman addressed the inaugural function as the chief guest while Joint secretary of fisheries and livestock Department Ashim Kumar Bala and dean of BAU Fisheries faculty Prof Dr Gias Uddin Ahmed special guests at the programme.
Director General of BFRI Dr Yahia Mahmud presided over the function. The technology fair has been organized at Mymensingh Circuit House premises from July 20 to 24.
There are 22 stalls at the fair. The fair will be opened from 10.00 am to 8.00 pm for visitors.
Department of Fisheries, Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute (BFRI), Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) Fisheries faculty and others fisheries related government, non-governmental organizations participated in the fair.
Religious Affairs Minister said, ‘There was a famine in Bangladesh at one time. But now there is no crisis of food in Bangladesh. To maintain self-sufficiency in food, we have to put more emphasis on research.’ – BAU Correspondent
