BGB-BSF to stop border killing, drug trafficking

Dhaka  – High officials of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at a courtesy meeting today expressed commitment to stop border killing as well as trafficking of drugs and narcotics substances.The commitment came at the Sector Commander level courtesy meeting held on Kuchlibari border under 7 Rangpur BGB Battalion near international boundary pillar no 802/MT inside Bangladesh territory in Lalmonirhat district, said a press release.BSSDeputy Director General of BGB and its Rangpur Sector Commander Md Moazzem Hossain led the 10-member BGB delegation while Jalpaiguri Sector Commander of the Indian BSF Shree Dinesh Murmur led the BSF delegation in the meeting.The BGB side raised the issues of stopping border killing, drug production factories alongside the bordering areas inside India and cross-border trafficking of drugs and narcotics substances.”Responding very positively to the BGB call, the BSF Sector Commander expressed commitment to stop border killing and trafficking of drugs and narcotics substances,” the release said, adding that the meeting was held in a very cordial atmosphere.
