Border Guard Bangladesh men on Saturday noon seized a tot of 715 grams of gold bars and arrested a woman raiding an area at Ghiba frontier under Benapole port police station while the border guard men seized two foreign made pistols from Baroanchra frontier under the police station early hours on same day, said BGB officials. Lt Col Jahangir Hossain, commandig officer, 26 Border Guard Battalion told New Nation that acting on a tip off the BGB personnel seized a total 8 pieces gold bars weighing 715 grams after arresting Rokeya Begum, wife of Mizan of Benapole from Ghiba frontier at around 12 noon. ‘ The gold bar were being taken to India’, he added.
The BGB men in another oeration seized two foreign pistold in an abandoned condition at Baroanchra frontier under Benapole port police station at around 4am on Saturday. But none was arrested. The arms were smuggled into the country from India, said Ayub Hossain, company commander, 26 Border Guard Battalion.Jessore Corresponent
