‘Bhaoyaiya’ Utsab ends in Rangpur

The two-day ‘Bhaoyaiya Utsab-2019’ ended here on Saturday midnight at Town Hall Auditorium in the city. Entertaining huge audience with the heart-throbbing musical tune of Bhaoyaiya songs.
Cultural organisation ‘Gidaler Akhra’ organised the event that ended with rendering popular Bhaoyaiya songs by the admired ‘Bhaoyaiya’ artists of Rangpur region followed by a colourful prize distribution function.
Regional Director of Rangpur Kendra of Bangladesh Betar Dr Harun Ar Rashid attended the concluding function and distributed prizes among the best Bhaoyaiya artists as the chief guest.
With founder of ‘Gidaler Akhra’ Mohammad Siraj Uddin in the chair, Professor Maloy Kishore Bhattacharya, poet and writer Dr Nasima Akhter, social workers Zabed Hossain Jewel, and Tanvir Hossain Ashrafi addressed the function as special guests.
The sparkers underscored the essence for properly preserving, flourishing and nurturing of the traditional and popular ‘Bhaoyaiya’ songs having huge importance and influence on the rich Bengali culture and heritage.
Professor Maloy Kishore Bhattacharya put emphasis on nurturing of ‘Bhaoyaiya’ songs with its heart-throbbing musical tune that still plays vital role in reviving past glory and tradition of the rich cultural heritage.
“The ‘Bhaoyaiya’ songs still attract the common people of all ages,” he said putting emphasis on saving this rich and healthier cultural heritage from aggression of foreign satellite cultures to revive the lost social values. The chief guest called upon cultural organisations to conduct more research on ‘Bhaoyaiya’ songs as those are still entertaining millions of people with healthier culture in greater Rangpur, Assam, West Bengal and Behar regions.
