A bicyclist identified as Delwar Hossain, 29, son of Mansur Ali of C
and B Road area, died after being by hit of a truck in front of
Tilak-Kaladema school on Barisal-Dhaka highway at Kashipur area of the
city Friday night.
Police seized the truck, arrested truck helper Mustafa Shikdar and
handed over the body to family members after lodging a case with
Airport Police Station Saturday, said Shahidullah, police station in
charge.
Besides at least 20 out of 50 passengers of a bus of Imon Enterprise
plying on Barisal -Patuakhali route were injured after the vehicle
fell into roadside ditch at Awliapur on Saturday noon, said Bakerganj
police station in charge Nurul Islam.
Local people rescuing the passengers admitted the injured at Bakerganj
upazila complex, police sources said. -Our Correspondent
