Bikalpadhara for like-minded third alliance

Bikalpadhara Bangladesh has been planning to create a third alliance comprising like-minded political parties to gear up the movement for restoration of non-party caretaker government to oversee the next general elections, according to party leaders.Bikalpadhara Bangladesh has taken the latest move after a botched attempt to forge a national unity with Dr Kamal Hossain of Gano Forum and leaders of other like minded parties.
Party sources said the leader of Bikalpadhara are now engaged in consultation with leaders of its like-minded parties like Krishak Sramik Janata League of Bangabir Kader Siddiqui and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal to forge a third alliance to carryout movement after the Eid-ul-Fitr.
The Bikalpadhara leaders are also contacting with the leaders of Islami Shasantantra Andolon led by Mufti Rezaul Karim, Pir Shaheb Charmonai, they said.
“We are consulting with leaders of like-minded parties to form a third alliance to carryout movement with the opposition BNP for restoration of caretaker government,” said Bikalpadhara Joint Secretary General Mahi B Chowdhury.
Talking to The Independent he hoped that they would be able forge the third alliance within the holy month of Ramjan.
Replying to a question, the Bikalpadhara leader said they have also been consulting with the BNP leadership as to how they would carryout movement with them.
He also hoped that they would go for tougher action after the Eid-ul-Fitr to force the government to restore the caretaker government.
When contacted Bangabir Kader Siddiqui, President of Krishak Sramik Janata League, admitted that they are in touched with the leaders of like-0minded political parties to carryout movement for restoration of caretaker government.
He, however didn’t make it clear whether they would carryout movement with the opposition BNP and alone.
ASM Abdur Rab, President of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, also said they are working to forge a third alliance comprising like-minded parties to carryout movement based on minimum programme.
“We are in favour of forging a third alliance. The progress to forge the alliance is on,” he added.
The JSD leader said the alliance would be formed aiming at ensuring betterment of the people and protect the independence and sovereignty of the country not to go to power.
