Members of Airport Armed Police arrested an employee of Biman Bangladesh Airlines from VVIP terminal of Shahjalal International Airpot for his alleged attempt to steal chemicals on Monday noon. The arrestee was identified as Md Junayet Hossain, GSE (General Service Engineering) operator of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. His accomplice GSE Operator Md Nazrul managed to flee the scene.
Contacted, Senior ASP of AAP Motazzar Hossain said they had information that two Biman employees have stolen 28 kg of chemicals (Azithromycin) from import cargo.
When they were trying to leave the airport with the stolen chemicals in a fuel cart of Biman the AAP members arrested Junayet with the chemical while Nazrul managed to flee the scene.
A case was filed with Airport police station in this connection. – UNB
