Blogger Avijit’s publisher among 3 stabbed in city

Dhaka – Three people, including a publisher of slain writer and blogger Avijit Roy, suffered with stab and bullet injuries in attack by miscreants in the city’s Lalmatia area on Saturday.
The victims were identified as Ahmed Rahim Tutul, a publisher of slain writer and blogger Avijit Roy and two other writers –- Sudeep Kumar Roy Barman alias Ranadeep Basu and Tareque Rahim.

Police said a group of miscreants stormed into the office of Tutul of ‘ Shudhdhoswar Prokashoni’ at third floor of 8/13 Lalmitia around 2:45pm and chopped him with indiscernibly, leaving him injured critically with heads.
Sudeep Kumar and Tareque were also injured in the attack at that time, said ASI Abdullah Al Mamun of Mohammadpur Police Station.
He said they found of bullet marks from the belly of Tarque.
Later, they were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 3:15pm.
The physical condition of Tutul was stated to be critical, sources at the DMCH said. -News desk
