Bnp complains, Govt obstructing Tarique’s return home

The BNP on Monday alleged that the government is obstructing party senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman to return home by implicating “false cases” one after another.
“Tarique Rahman is now in exile. A number of false cases were filed against him. False propaganda is also being carried out against him. Conspiracy is being hatched to keep him from politics totally,” said acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

He was addressing a doa mahfil organised by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal at party headquaters at Naya Paltan in the city to mark the 10th anniversary of Tarique Rahman’s imprisonment.
The BNP leader further alleged that conspiracy was hatched against Tarique Rahman to destroy the politics of nationalist forces.
“Conspiracy of 1/11 was hatched to make the country devoid of poltical toally by removing away the tested political leaders from poltics,” he said.
Fakhrul said Tarique Rahman was tourtured by hatching conspiracy since he had introduced a new dimention in poltics.
Presided over by JCD president Rajib Ahsan, the function was present, among others, by Abdullah Al Noman, Fazlul Haque Milon, Khairul Kabir Khokan, Nazimuddin Alam, ABM Mosharraf Hossain and Rafiq Sikder.
Meanwhile, two factions of JCD were locked in scuffling after distribution of sweets after milad and doa mahfil.
Some 10 to 12 activists of groups attacked on activists of another goupr injuring some of them. The situauiton was brought under at the intervention of senior party leaders. – Staff Reporter
