Describing those who burn people by setting fire to vehicles as criminals, BNP senior leader Lt Gen (retd) Mahbubur Rahman on Tuesday demanded the government bring them to justice.
“Those who are burning people during our peaceful blockade programme are criminals, not political activists… they must be identified and brought to justice,” he said.Mahbub, a BNP standing committee member, made the call while talking to reporters after visiting the burn unit of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
He arrived at the DMCH around 11am and talked to the arson victims of the ongoing blockade programme.
The BNP leader said, “I saw a heartbreaking scene here as many people suffered burn injuries… I saw their screams… I tried to talk to them, but can’t even speak due to severe pains.”
Mentioning that criminals are criminals and there can be no other identity, Mahbub urged all to restore peace in the country. – UNB
