BNP leader Rizvi hospitalised

BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has been admitted to a city hospital with ‘serious stomach’ problems. He was admitted to Square Hospital on Wednesday night as he fell sick with stomachache, Rizvi’s close aid and Swechchhasebak Dal joint secretary Aminul Islam told UNB on Thursday. He said the BNP leader has been kept at the ICU under the supervision of Prof Dr Sanawar Hossain at the hospital. Aminul said Rizvi has been suffering from stomach problems since 1984 as he received a bullet in his abdomen by law enforcers during the anti-autocracy movement. “As his intestine got damaged badly by the bullet and a surgery was carried out in his food canal, a block often creates there causing acute abdominal pain,” Aminul added.
