Bnp’s Swechchhasebok Dal leader hurt in Mymensingh Police firing

A local leader of Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal was injured in police firing while trying to flee allegedly after hurling two crude bombs on the law enforcers at Town Hall More in front of the opposition leader Rawshan Ershad’s residence early Sunday.
The arrestee was identified as Nuruzzaman, joint convenor of Kotwali unit Swechchhasebak Dal, volunteer front of BNP.Officer-in-charge Fazlul Karim of Kotwali Model Police Station said a group of people hurled two crude bombs targeting the on-duty police members in the area at about 1:00 am and tried to flee the scene.
Police tried to catch them and at one stage opened fire on them, leaving Nuruzzaman injured with bullets.
Later, police arrested Nuruzzaman while his associates managed to flee the scene, police said.
Injured Nuruzzaman was admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital under police custody. No version from Nuruzzaman was available immediately– UNB
