A man and his daughter were found dead inside a septic tank at a house at Labanchora in Khulna city on Friday night.
The deceased were identified as Elias, 75, and his daughter Parveen Akter, 25, a resident of the area.Quoting locals, police said Parveen, daughter of Elias, had come to her father’s house recently.
Reportedly a gang of robbers swooped on the house sometime at night and looted their valuables.
When Elias and Parveen tried to resist the robbers, the robbers, it is alleged, strangled the man and his daughter to death and dumped the bodies in the septic tank of their house.
Mollah Jahangir Alam, deputy commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police (South), said being informed by local people, police recovered the bodies from the septic tank of the house around 11:40 pm.
Police suspected that the robbers might have killed Parveen at first and then killed her father. The bodies were sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue.- UNB
