Body of one missing student out of 4 found in St Martin’s

The body of a missing student, out of four, of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, Dhaka, was found in the bay in the Saint Martin’s Island here on  Wednesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Sabbir Hasan, 22, a student of Computer Science and Engineering Department of the university.The body of Sabbir was seen floating in the bay adjacent to Saint Martin’s Island police camp around 9:00am, said Ranjit Kumar Barua, officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station.
Later, the victim’s family members recognised the body of Sabbir after police recovered it.
The three other students of the university who are still uncounted for are Udoy Mahmud, Shahriar Rahman and Golam Rahin Bappi.
On April 14, a group of nine students of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology went swimming in the bay near the beach of Prashad Paradise Hotel and were swept away by a strong current around 11:00am.
Locals, however, managed to rescue five of them–Imran Habib, Saddam Hossain, Faisal, Farhan and Asif– but the rest four went missing.
They were rushed to Teknaf upazila health complex where doctors declared Imran and Saddam dead.
Thirty-four students of Computer Science and Engineering Department of  Ahsanullah University went on a tour in the Saint Martin’s Island on April 13 to celebrate Pahela Baishakh. – UNB
