Three books, written by three renowned literarily personalities, were published at a publication festival organised here by Rangpur Sahittya Sangskritik Parishad (RSSP) at Town Hall auditorium in the city last night.
The books are ‘Kalongkito Basonar Raat’ written by Monwar Begum, ‘Akash Chonwa Nadi’ written by Dr Wadud Mostafa and ‘Nadi Amar Ma’ written by Dr Mofizul Islam Mantu. Renowned educationist and literary personality from Kolkata in West Bengal of India Dr Bimolendu Das attended the publication festival and unveiled covers of these books as the chief guest. Former Head of the Department of Bengali of Rangpur Carmichael College Professor Muhammad Alim Uddin and noted educationist of West Bengal Sharmistha Guha, attended the festival as the special guests. President of RSSP Professor Shah Alam presided over different sessions of the festival and discussion meeting while it’s General Secretary Swattik Al Maruf delivered welcome speech.
Vice-president of RSSP Aftab Hossain and Professor of the Department of Bengali of Begum Rokeya University Dr Sharifa Salwa Dina took part in the discussion on the book ‘Kalongkito Basonar Raat’ written by Monwar Begum. Head of the Department of Bengali of Rangpur Government College Dr Md Atahar Ali Khan took part in the discussion on the book ‘Akash Chonwa Nadi’ written by Dr Wadud Mostafa. Besides, Lecturer of the Department of Bengali of Mahiganj Degree College in Rangpur Dr Nasima Akhter discussed on the book ‘Nadi Amar Ma’ written by Dr Mofizul Islam Mantu. A large number of the poets, writers, literarily personalities, sociocultural activists, educations, academicians, researchers, civil society members, professionals and elite of the city were present in the festival. At the end, a colourful cultural function was arranged at the same venue to end the festival at midnight last night. -BSS, Rangpur
