Share prices at the country’s both bourses — Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) –- ended high on Tuesday.The DSE benchmark index, DGEN gained 119.60 points or 2.72 percent to reach 4505.37 points at the closing of the day’s trading.
Of the issues traded at the DSE on the day, 256 gained, 21 declined and 5 remained unchanged as shares worth Tk 762.53 crore changed hands.
As investors relived over GSP concern in Europe, Textile (+6.86%) topped in today’s session, which was followed by Engineering (+5.36%) and Cement (+4.03%). As volatility increased, Micro Cap (+4.92%) was the best performer of the day.
The CSE key index, CSCX also gained 220.77 points to stand at 8291.25 points. Of the issues, 176 advanced, 19 suffered loss and 6 remained unchanged.
