BPL Football: Bashundhara Kings beat Saif SC 3-2

Dhaka – League leader Bashundhara Kings maintained their unbeaten record as the only team in the ongoing Dhaka Premier Division Football League beating 4th placed Saif Sporting Club by 3-2 goals in the 12th round match at Sheikh Kamal Stadium in Nilphamari on Thursday.

In the day’s other league match, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra beat mediocre Rahmatganj MKS by 2-0 goals at Bangabadhu National Stadium (BNS) here.

With the feat, Bashundhara Kings clearly dominated the league table securing 31 points from 11 matches while Sk Russel KC are on the 3rd place with 24 points.

Saif FC, who conceded their 3rd defeat in the ongoing league, remained at the 4th slot with 20 points while Rahmatganj MFS remained at the 9th place with their previous credit of 9 points.

In Nilphamari, Saif SC took lead in the very 3rd minute of the match by a goal scored by Colombian recruit Deiner Cordoba (1-0).

Bashundhara Kings continued their attacks and finally got the success in the 31st minute when their Brazilian recruit Marcos Vinicius levelled the margin off a Motin Miah pass (1-1).

In the 43rd minute, Costa Rica recruit and world playing Daniel Colindres doubled the Kings margin, assisted by Marcos Vinicius (2-1).

In the stoppage time of the first half, Kyrgyzstan recruit Bakhtiyar-Duyshobekov netted the 3rd goal for Bashundhara Kings (3-1).

After the half time, Saif FC fought hard to stage a comeback in the match. Local booter Riyadul Hosan Rafi scored 2nd goal for Saif FC (3-2) in the 56th minute (3-2).

The fourth-placed Saif SC continued their attacks in the rest of period but failed to score any goal and finally, the Bashundhara Kings won the game by 3-2 goals.

At BNS, Sheikh Russel were very desperate for a win against lowly Rahmatganj MFA after their one defeat and a draw in the previous two matches.

In the 4th minute of the match, local booter Mohammad Sohel put Sheikh Russel KC ahead (1-0).

Sheikh Russel KC continued their domination and doubled the score in the first half as their Nigeria recruit Raphael Odovin Onwrebe scored the 2nd goal in the 17th minute utilising a Uzbekistan recruit Azizov Alisher’s pass (2-0).

Despite showing some good efforts, Rahmatganj could not find any success and the match ended by 2-0 goals.UNB
