BRAC University offers CIPS exam support classes

We are delighted to inform you that the Institute of Governance Studies (IGS) of BRAC University is offering study support classes for 4th batch to pass CIPS exams and obtain CIPS qualifications in Bangladesh. IGS is rolling out the CIPS qualification (Diploma/ Advanced Diploma/ Professional Diploma) programme for procurement, purchasing and supply chain professionals.What is CIPS qualification?
The Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) is a UK based international organization (www.cips.org) serving the purchasing and supply profession. CIPS exists to promote and develop high standards of professional skill, ability and integrity among all those engaged in purchasing and supply chain management. CIPS assists individuals, organizations and the profession as a whole. CIPS ‘ladder’ of qualifications provides benchmark education programmes for the purchasing and supply profession throughout the world.
The IGS Advantage & Resource Persons
IGS teamed up with CIPS, UK in 2010 to offer CIPS qualification (Diploma/Advanced Diploma/ Professional Diploma) programme to public sector participants of Bangladesh Government. Under this collaboration IGS faculty members were trained and developed by Master Trainers of CIPS, UK to prepare them to take CIPS study support classes. The Trainers, who will take CIPS Exam Support Classes, are CIPS certified national procurement experts of Bangladesh and have successfully completed TOT programme conducted by CIPS, UK. Total 34 participants have achieved MCIPS degree under Public Procurement Reform Project (PPRP-II) funded by The World Bank. IGS was the implementing partner of the project. In the year 2011 IGS also offered the same programme for the private sector officials and three (03) batches are currently studying at IGS.

Programme Structure
As a part time programme (evening and week end classes), IGS will start with Level-4 courses to prepare participants to sit for CIPS examinations and will later offer Level 5 and 6 courses.
Each participant will take five courses each in Level 4, 5 and 6 i.e. a total of fifteen courses. After passing Level 4 they will qualify for Diploma and after Level 5 and 6 they will be given Advanced Diploma and Professional diploma both by CIPS, UK. Participants will have to pass examination for each of the five courses in Level 4, 5 and 6 to qualify for the coveted MCIPS qualification.
The CIPS qualifications are given by CIPS, UK and the role of the Institute of Governance Studies (IGS) as an approved study and only one exam center of CIPS ( Centre ID : 005372641), first of its kind in Bangladesh and South Asia, is to facilitate the learning process and to assist students to successfully pass the CIPS exams with support classes.
